1200 milesA Poem by LilaaMy heart throbbing against my savored chest as I embrace our love through tiny postcards My body desirous for your touch, yearning for your sweet embrace and hoping to catch the very first glimpse of you as you make your way down the airport stair case. 1200 miles is nothing compared to the distance between our hearts, the aching feeling of having you so far, is too much endurance for my heart. It is hard to build a body out of words, it is formidable we both have tried, instead of resting my head against your chest, I tell you about the boy who lives down stairs. Instead of holding my hand sliding your fingers between mine, you tell me about a sandwich you made and how the lettuce fell perfectly against the base of the bread. There is only so many words a post card can hold and only so many words a phone call can sway, as we sit here, both at our own pace we never forget to gaze into the shining night sky and wish upon the next shooting star. 1200 miles and I await your sweet sensation, your cherry covered lips and eyes that shine brighter than the night stars, Too many postcard promises were made that summer.
