Mother

Mother

A Poem by AlexandreaLynn

You gave me life

you guided me.

Bu tyour words

were only of disgust.

You would always scold me

then give me praise.

You always saw my faults

and never my feelings.

When you look at my sister

your face glows with pride.

you look at me

nothing

nothing ever happens.

You just stare

as if I am not worthy

worthy of being your daughter.

You are a perfectionist

but you do not look at yourself as imperfect

you look at me with darkened eyes

a face full of hatred

swollowing my joy

and filling me with pain.

Why can't you be proud of me?

I am your unworthy daughter

and you are my mother.
