The boxA Poem by Lijo Jose
This time he gave her a bigger box
And walked away promising to meet later at seven.. She knew it contained all the letters she wrote Tears started flowing as she walked back She slammed the door ,placed the box on the bed.. Grazed the tips of her fingers over the box Reminiscing the memories of their love. She knew , he had priorities... Important yet insignificant to her.. She kept staring at the box and time clicked away.. She traced something on a shred of paper, Walked into the valley , an answer he expected He smiled, and she handed him the paper and walked away.. He called after her and she let him go for good.. She slammed the door again, and anger heightened within her. She kept staring at the wall for an hour or so.. The box, she thought. Damn that box, and she threw it hard , It hit the wall and clicked open... She blinked twice, and her breath was dying within her There on the floor , was a note, a flower and a goddamn ring.. It read, marry me Claire.. She ran , she knew he would be gone... She was a pathetic soul, and her soul longed for him... She smiled for the first time that day.. For she saw a sight to behold forever. There he was waiting, his eyes transfixed on her. Their souls were meant to be... Forever and always © 2016 Lijo JoseAuthor's Note
