You Don't Matter

You Don't Matter

A Poem by Faith Almazan

You constantly test me.

My heart wants to rest,

we

    are never gonna be

that vision you dreamed of.

Instead you're gonna see

     none of me.

Greed's a turn-off.

Picture this.

Just visualize

all the men that surround me.

My heart belonged to you.

I only wanted you around me.

You doubted me and

my friendship.

I'll miss the way you walked off,

when you told me that you're working.

Shut my mouth and f**k off.

F**k on is what you yearned for.

But you never said a thing.

      Why?

You're shy.

      It's hurtful.

You were nothing-- not even a fling.

Sounds like it comes from a place of pain. Hopefully you have healed in the time between now and when you wrote this poem. He really missed out!

This comes across uniquely, at one point it is you that don't matter to him, and at another point it is he that doesn't matter to you... truisms in action.

There's a very lyrical flow to your words. I like it
