The Bare Foot Man

The Bare Foot Man

A Poem by Troy Henson
"

To walk in one’s shoes…

"
Putting on my shoes wondering just how
I’ll face the day
Tying my shoe laces thinking about how
I’ll walk, which way
Feeling every step, I ponder one thing as
I’m walking along
How do I become the best version of me
to remain strong
Languishing without a fathers hand to
guide me home
Searching within, often I feel I’ve failed
in my walk alone
It’s not until I take off my shoes, take a
breath with bare feet that I understand
It’s not the shoes you wear but the way
you carry yourself that make a decent man.

Now that we can count on! What we have within is what counts, the outer shell a mere mask 🙏🏻🕊

Wonderful work and content. It is within ... that is where to look:)

Good rhyming and good philosophy here. Life has a way of revealing its truths to us in seemingly mundane ways. That is why we must be focused and alert as much as possible.

nice! i like the perspective of walking in one's own shoes .. very creaative and unique .. wish i had thought of it ;) so ... walking in your shoes ... as soon as i took those shoes off i sunk my toes in warm ocean sands ... ahhhhhhhhhh ... it's hard to go on with life loosing our fathers and mothers and anyone else but for men our father's were, or should have been, our anchors and guides ... remembering what they taught us helps but finding our Creator Father is even better ;) sure enjoyed this creative and inspiring poem

A man's first impression is of his father. It's an influence through the years that is passed down, as he becomes a man, himself. Being without a father's hand, especially as a child, is unfathomable. I hope his light lives on within you!

i only have memories of my dad...but even his memories watch me and guide me into being the best person I can be....I have special shoes for that and really like this poem, Troy.

True words and message spoken clearly and wisely by Troy in his latest poem.
A good, symbolic poem.
