Contemplative.

Contemplative.

A Poem by Omar
"

This poem speaks of a time when I felt hopeless and truly alone.

"

Contemplative, I hold my breath whilst ravenous thoughts

Gnaw at my mind still, my mind is ablaze.

Complacent, I care not for words but crave your action.

My regard deeper than the ocean, for you are more precious

Than this foul world we inhabit. Consumed by flames

The thought of you extinguishes my anxiety.

Withdrawn I explode inside, silent but deadly,

My murderous gaze fixed upon my oppressors,

I plead with my heart to forgive,

Although my mind, blatant, never forgets.

I am plagued by the despair of my past,

Damaged by infancy, tormented by the painful legacy.

Questioning my existence, unsure of my purpose,

I seek divine intervention for my soul is dark.

Meditative I reflect on the past unsure of the future,

Wide-eyed in the dark, I am surrounded by your presence,

Yet still I am all alone..

Still, I am contemplative.
