You Were A Masterpiece.A Poem by OmarThis poem is about loving someone who was perfect on the outside, beautiful and consuming however it reaffirms that true beauty comes from within.Everyday I pass your way, I look out to see your face and sometimes I wish you'd see mine, For reasons unknown to me, I will always care for you. The love and lust have long since Left my being however, I will never forget you. True to myself, I admit that I do miss you, For my truth is mine alone to bear. I will always search for your face in the crowd as you Were a monumental piece of my history, there's a part of me that is and always will be Devoted to caring for you. I will miss you for as long as I live, unsure of how you feel, I am Ambivalent for as I grow into my great success and prosperity, I cannot risk the liability of Being blinded by you again although, you were a masterpiece painted like the velvet stars Amidst the dark sky. Much like Vincent's Starry Night, you were mesmerizing yet, Untouchable, for as I defied the natural order I was bound to fall into the dark abyss in Search of the light, such is the punishment for a love forbidden. Alas such you were, Beautiful, kept, consuming... A Masterpiece. © 2016 Omar |
