Books are for ReadingA Poem by EdenHarperI The optimum of some
soul’s imagination, A brilliant story
unfurls its sails to glide To creativities
undisclosed location. The ink sketched
enthralling words flow like a tide. Crinkling pages of
once breathing ancient tree, Clutched in eager
hand by the glow of the hearthside, Awaking dreams of
leaping the boundary. II Fantastical
spectacles awaiting a glance, Children cautiously
read for fright of a fairy Who’d change them to
a fat pig or a grog perchance? Thin parchment smelling
of saw dust and adventure, Tales written in
scrawled pen of perilous romance. From the cover creeps
out ghouls and brutes and capture Unwary gold maiden’s eyes blue as the sea, while reading read on, the wickedness they lecture. They’re just plain
books you say, but they captivate me. © 2012 EdenHarperAuthor's Note
