poor fool

there is a girl I once knew

she was a poor little fool

she would go to church and sit in the pew

and after that she would go to school

she had no friends

because people can be cruel

and her soul she bends

hoping to be cool 

in disapproval they would stare

mockingly they would shout.

she had no one who seemed to care

even when she cried out loud

but after a wile a light came on

and her tears started to dry

 she was reborn

when she knew it was a lie

she was beautiful

and she was free

she was immovable

she was me
