On My Way, All Over Again

On My Way, All Over Again

A Poem by Laura

This picture can tell you a story of me

Dead flowers crunch under my feet

On my way

All over again

2 a.m.

Piling up the car

I think Mom and Dad

Were running from the same thing I was

the next two years were sleep

It must have been

I remember nothing

That is what happens when you are

Scarred by something bigger than yourself

Looking at you

I see the person I might have been

Had I not died next to that fireplace

My ashes are still there

They ignite every time I think about the fire

he was bigger than me

Taller, hairy, and with teh coldest brown eyes I'll ever see

Taking me away from myself

Who I could have been

Who I'll never be

Every day

My flesh bubbles

Burns

On my way

All over again

Someday

i will have to go back

For real

Confront the man I knew

He won't seem so tall then
