A Giver!

A Giver!

A Poem by Licht

A man gave not a penny but only his thought, yet for him that was a lot.
But the world laughed at his donation,
Judging his action by his contribution!

He smiled and accepted their ridicule,
Returning nothing but a smile in full!

He turned to the lot, still beaming he spoke his thought.

"A giver is not one who distributes a chest with pride and pressure,
But one who lends with a silent heart and an empty tender!

A true donation is not one that superficially pleases it's source, only to pacify the ego of its supposed growth!

It's when the hand stretches with its palm open, and never clamp it's fingers with fists swollen.

In fact, A true deed or act of kind is one that which is born out of a still mind..."

And with that he uttered his last to the crowd, His booming voice never too loud.
He joined his palms in a thanking gesture,
For they had unknowingly accepted his greatest treasure!

This was a wonderful read. What beautiful words.

"A giver is not one who distributes a chest with pride and pressure,
But one who lends with a silent heart and an empty tender!" - loved this part.
