Women's Rights

Women's Rights

A Poem by HMK Bomar

Society defines pretty

As a skin bag

Filled with calcium-deprived

Bones

Billboards glorify twenty year olds

Who appear to be all of twelve green years

With lack of breast, breadth, and with that unnecessary corset?

Lack of breath.

Honey, you look hungry.

Baby, you look starved.

Let me share with you a little secret:

Curvy girls do it better.

God, Allah, The Wizard of OZ

The All-powerful Universe

Name your doctrine,

You were made a WOMAN

You were meant to have breasts

To have breadth of hips

To be able to BREATHE

Your body has a purpose that you are trying to run off

Starve off

Puke off

So baby, eat some butter

Damnit, eat some cake!

Wake up tomorrow morning

And LOVE your lovehandles
