Questions for Jesus

"

Tell me Lord, is it true
About you, what they say?
That you walked and talked as humans do…
And lived and breathed each day?

“Yes my child. All you’ve heard
And all you say is true.
I know just what it means to be
A human just like you…”

And is it true about your friends
Who said, “For you, we’d die!”
They turned and ran when trials came
To lay them on the line?

“Yes dear one. It’s sad but true.
I know just how you feel
When friends of yours abandon you
The pain was very real.”

And Jesus, can it surely be…
You were sleepless in the night
Afraid of what the dawn would bring
And dreading morning’s light?

“That too was real. That too is true.
To this, I can attest.
On morning’s light I died for you
So that you would be blessed.”

Is it true that when you heard your friend
Had died not far from you
Your heart was burdened down with sorrow
And you cried just like us too?

“My heart was broken and it’s true
His sisters called my name
I wept with tears of bitterness
For you see, we are the same…”

But Jesus, you created all
And you know everything we do
How can this all be possible?
Lord, is it really true?

“I am the uncreated one
All the things you said are true.
I am God’s one and only son.
A human just like you…”
