A poem based on a character in a novel I am writing.

Shrouded in mystery

You came in the silence

And spoke with a sadness

That I had never known

 

But hope echoed within the sadness

And gave rise to love

And love gave way to light

Which pierced through the shadows

 

And light consumed the darkness

Dispersed the blackness

And proved that the night

Must always bow before the dawn
