Peightyn's Lullaby

Peightyn's Lullaby

A Poem by josh lawdermilt

Sleep, sleep softly here
Gently dream
Your fear away
Where darkest night is turned to day
And tears you cry
Are left behind
And all is new in the morning.

This was a very sweet and enjoyable piece to read... I think that the delicate and simple way in which this was written is truly a testament to the notion that poetry need not always been filled with exaggerated depth in order to be emotionally connective. I could see these words being whispered as a lullaby; a comforting and melodic bit of words to send someone off in to dreamland. Nicely done.
