Fly Swatter

Fly Swatter

A Poem by Libby McKeown

Kill one,

and a thousand

take its place.

Light one,

and it takes

a thousand more

to satisfy.

I like how it pauses and reads quickly every couple lines, great flow. It sounds like, well, in my opinion, hate towards you about any thing or thought. If you manage to convert one person's angry thoughts to acceptance, more come to take his/her place. Thanks for sharing! :)

Have to thank Emily for sending this my way...so much in so little and truer words may never have been spoken

I like this one a lot. The shortness of it suits both the subject and the tone, especially that last line: "to satisfy."

This could be taking a stand on so many different things- war, cigarettes, arson- not that it is, but it makes you think. I love the openendedness and the short form. I'd love to know the thoughts behind this piece. Thanks for sharing =)

Wise, yet simply stated, with no filler. Not a style I can write well in, but a style I love when its well written, as this is.

I had an 'oh, my' moment reading this. Can't think of a better review than that. Looking forward to reading more of your words.

Libby this brings out the image of infinity or the "impossibility" to satisfy this human thirst for power and domination. It is very short, concise and artiically presented. Well done!

Best regards
Vincent
