Interesting... This is certainly a concise piece, and I do enjoy reading this style of poetry, though I always find myself wanting to know more for some reason. Just a few more "telling" lines and I would feel completely satiated. With that said, the imagery here is fantastic, especially:
Death smiles,
and takes another bite of his cookie.
and
My lifetime
stands in the snow
--both great images that were hard hitting in terms of emotion.

could you explain the title? is the leeper laughing because he understands the feeling of being unloved or lonely? while death is just waiting... mmm cookie..
Short but very meaningful piece, I really like this. Especially with it's play on symbolism and how you connect such complex things, then turn them into simple meanings. Priceless.
I love this piece, it's just, simply put, amazingly beautiful.
Such a short piece, but still meaningful. The images of snow and death tied together are always very powerful. This piece, short as it is, reminds me of 'The Book Thief', my favorite book. Maybe you'd read it? (If not, you should. It's incredible. I've read it three times, and I don't reread books very often.) Anyways, this reminds of that. The story involves snow, and a very sardonic Death character.
I especially loved the part about Death eating a cookie. Almost a childlike characteristic. Very nicely written. :)
How could I ever explain??
A side note: I will read every read request. I can't promise I will review every one. However, don't be an a*s and send me (or anyone) 400 requests! I will unfriend y.. more..
