Fire

Fire

"

Descripted passage of fire

"

Burning sapphire red and orange. Dancing wildly like barbarians in victory. Hissing and cackling as it grows larger. Heat rolls off the flame rippling the air in between. The tips lick the air with orange lizard tongues. It roars, a continuous roar so deep and low it’s like a vibration. Smoke leaps into the air sending the universal smell of destruction and consumption into the atmosphere.

Such a primeval destroyer fire is, how it feeds with an everlasting gluttony, but how easily it is overcome.

Water sprays on the flame. The fire struggles against the water’s smothering. The roar of the flame softens, the deep colors reduce to amber, and the flame grows smaller. Water comes out victorious. The only remains of the fire are rubble of its meal and soggy ashes with smoke rolling off. The flame’s stool pigeon slowly dies with it’s partner in the wake of it bane.
