Her.

Her.

A Poem by Lianne
"

In the past month, life hasn't been all rainbows and butterflies. It's a growing up phase I guess. I have learnt that, unfortunately, some people do not realize the price of love and trust.

"

Dressed in distress

Nobody is able to undress her

xx so she’ll just sit there and wait

like an obedient dog.

In her head, a chaos

In her heart, a chaos

If the moon and the stars are the only things left that she can trust

so be it

she’ll dance in the moonlight

alone and afraid

standing still and trying not to fidget

restless

the earth stops revolving

no beating hearts

no wanderers

just her,

her and the moon and the stars

This is no game, this is no dream, this is real

this is happening

and in this world of chaos, who can hear you?

Nobody.

Certainly not your lover

Maybe not even yourself

She’s dancing alone in the night

because words are no longer sufficient

She keeps quiet

Because shouting is not a wise choice

And because the more you speak

the more people can’t hear you

so she whispers

tired of speaking

and in time to come

tired of whispering

time will put out the flame in her heart

time will nourish her

time will be the death of her

this is quite good...i like the idea implied at the beginning...the undressing i see as getting inside her thoughts because she is too self-protective..and shies away from being vulnerable...therefore..she dances in the moonlight, alone. it's safer.

Thank you! Exactly. Even though she dances alone, it's better this way because then she wouldn't hav.. read more
Great picture painted of a girl who is so skeptical to the world that she trusts nothing else than the Moon and the Stars. I liked the image of her dancing around in complete lonesomeness, with only the nighttime sky as company. I feel that the following lines sums up her being:

"Dressed in distress / Nobody is able to undress her"

And the end lines were particularly poignant, because they show the two-headed nature of Father Time:

"time will nourish her / time will be the death of her"

Great one, Lianne :)
