Perplexing Pool

Perplexing Pool

A Poem by pretentious_pizza_boy
"

A poem about a pond I have been visiting for the last 5 years. It is full of waste however it is still as beautiful as any other.

"
Perplexing Pool.

Hello, it's me again.
I haven't been for a while,
and you've been on my mind recently.
Perplexing Pool, what do you hide in your murky depths?

Rays of silver pierce your scummy face
revealing the treasures inside.
a silver sliver shimmer flickers fracturing
your serene face.

Loops of obsidian reside in your belly,
home to a mossy forest growing with each day.
life is made and unmade and made again within you,
birth and death you withstand eternally.

Sentinel you stand, watching the world above you,
housing the life around you, feeding the earth entrapping you.
They say you are ugly. Ha!
Perplexing Pool, what do you hide in your murky depths?
