A Poem by liambeggs

Sitting here just sitting here

that’s what I am doing, just sitting here.

Watching T.V.

but not

it’s draining my life away.

Out of choice that is, and my choice it is

just to stare at it following this made up world.

From someone else’s mind trying to engross me

but it isn’t

I just won’t.

I want to move I really do

but at the same time the grips keep me where I am

that’s why it’s best to stay.

Stay where I am and what I can’t see will secure me

Secure me in my own mind.

You know what this means

as the hours

even seconds tick tock away.

My power is getting weakened

as it gets stronger

soon enough they will be nothing left

nothing at all left of me.

There are people around but I’ve never been more alone

I want to scream

scream out aloud for help.

Easier thought than done though

as my tongue has been captured.

I try to negotiate

but no such luck

it know if my tongue is free

it will speak freely

freely about everything that has been.

That will be the end of it

gone for good

but until that day comes

if ever

I am stuck.
