At Crossroads Stands my Mirror Image

A Poem by Patricia
"

how does one describe a poem without simply repeating the verse?

"

Crossroads

At crossroads stands my mirror image
reflecting back the short life thus lived.
perception slightly skewed; the obscure
tilt noticed only by the few that try.

And here, will all mine worth be measured
as I stand and contemplate the path.
for though I am young, (oh, I am young!)
the paths not chosen still gleam with bitter taste.

How can it be that words are not enough?
even to those to whom they are most clear;
to express the bitter doubts, the fear seeded deep
in all who come along: this pain of growing up.

Author's Note

Patricia
Ok, I really don't know what to think of the last line, especially the phrase growing up. I feel like it sounds immature. If anyone can offer me opinion on that I would be most greatful. Thank you!
