For HimA Poem by Leslie Mariefor a sweet soul who is oblivious to how wonderful he isThey push theirselves down. Pretend they have fallen from grace. Adorn the face of disaster. A mess. Put themselves on the map. Ugliness is more visible than a hundred of the same.
They rise on a wave of ashes of those they've burned. Conquering all to be more. The best. The only. "Oh what they've accomplished. How admirable." A treacherous fascade.
He toils day and night. Bright eyes, bright smile, Bright mind. Illuminating the darkness of comrades and foes alike. As much of a foe as he can possess. How does one conquer the heaviness of a light heart? The destroyer of a sound mind. Where is his earning? His joy?
Cruel fate takes from those who have given all. How ironic that often the poor soul doesn't realize it was theirs to begin with.
May he rest and revive. Grow into the product of his endeavors. Feel joy and innocence like a child.
Even if for the first time. © 2013 Leslie Marie |
