Color Returns to the World

Color Returns to the World

A Poem by lhawkins

Color floods the universe

The galaxies shine

And we are so in love.

I love you

I love you

I love you.

Fore lifetimes, my stomach was in knots, my mind a mess, my eyes a faulty dam.

Every second, my hands melt in yours.

My heart pushes its way, forcing it through my chest.

Grief evaporates with the sorrow I held in my bones, breaking under the strain of the truth that you didn’t want me.

But my bones are hollow

And I am a bird in the arms of the wind,

Carrying me over possibilities and through warm gusts of inspiration.

You are the muse

You have always been the wind

You are the search for adventure

And we will travel everywhere

No crevice of infinity unseen.
