Paternal Demise

Paternal Demise

A Poem by Scarecrow November

Paternal deficiency,

parental discrepancy,

pastoral delinquency.

Leap the heights,

aim low for the bushes,

miss it by an inch,

you’re death’s new assistant.

Parental unit,

a father gifted life,

failing as the authoritative,

disrespect inaugurated.

Skeletal closets burning,

near escape aborted,

sinful regards,

scarlet letters sewing.

---

Dad, this isn’t a story,

this is my life.

Whether you’re in it

or not isn’t for me to decide.

If you have to

force the effort,

it must be the

end of the ride.

---

Bio-dad,

wishful thinking,

righteous man,

exerted demons.

Glorification

process dismiss,

dropping promptly

unto your demise.

Puppet originator,

savage beast,

deportation fancy,

overwhelming defeat.

Heart and soul

consuming hatred,

father-daughter

masses tainted.

---

Dad, this isn’t a story,

this is my life.

Whether you’re in it

or not isn’t for me to decide.

If you have to

force the effort,

it must be the

end of the ride.

As Tyler Durden said in Fight Club, if our fathers were our model for God, what does that say about God?

It has a direct approach that is refreshing and at the same time tangled with a old feel that keeps throwing in elements that establish a long lasting effect.

If only he could read this and really FEEL what you feel and have gone through for years, he'd change his ways. If he couldn't after acknowledging you in this he is seriously messed up more than we thought in wiring.
