I like it. It's simple and to the point. Not trying to throw religious crap at you or anything but I know it states in the bible, in the hebrew scriptures, blah blah that God basically just sits back and watches us all f*ck up. I dont really get why we have to worship him so damn much if thats the case haha. I think a lot of times people believe in God purely for moral support, but hey whatever helps right?
:) What a change in the end of the poem,,it is very beautiful and it describes what a faithful person can feel when everybody else want to destroy God..let's face the truth we dont't have real proofs God exists but certain people feel that and don't need any proofs...I have noticed that intelectual people like to destroy this myth , of God, when I was in university almost all my proffesors said they don;t believe in God, they tried to innoculate this to us too...but people like us..who don;t struggle so much to be intelligent , and are just creative( I like to consider myself an amateur artist) know things that rational people don't. Well...what I said in so many words you said in a poem:)
I do believe that there is a God. Hence the balance/imbalance of good and evil. We all know evil exists, and how could evil exist without good? God is good. Step outside on a clear beautiful night and look at the stars and then question, if there is a God. Ponder upon the beautiful sunrise/sunsets and the flowers that bloom, the power of the ocean, the question if there is a God. That voice inside you guiding you from right and wrong, your conscience, is GOD speaking to you. Have you ever witnessed a miracle? I am a miracle. I almost died at 23 and was completely parylized on life support with both lungs cllapsed and pneaumonia on top of Guillianne barre syndrome. Docs gave me NO CHANCE in living...but by the power of prayer, not only have I survived, but I also walked again and gave birth to my son 3 years ago. I have two teenage girls who would be without a mother today. Yes, there are horrible things that happen to us that may question our "faith". Over-all God has given to us free will and sometimes we cause our own pain and suffering. Sometimes, we do not, sometimes we are given tremendo tests to build our characters. And if life were perfect, we would never speak to Him (God). Life is a journey of knowledge and growth. If we did not have times of suffering anf anguish, how could we grow our character? How could our faith strengthen? Just a few thoughts to leave with you. Your few words brought out much provocative thinking. Good write.
A question that has been with me since I was a teenager. Would people go beserk and just do whatever they wanted, without regard to morals or values. I know you do not need a belief in God to make you want to be humane, and have values. A great thought provoking write. Rain..
Lex, I really enjoy reading your poems. This one was especially touching to me because I find myself still questioning religion (at the age of 32). I have pondered whether he was simply "invented" or if he "exists". I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea...I don't consider myself an aetheist. However, I still struggle with the exact message you delivered in this poem. I am very impressed with the incredibly thought-provoking message you delivered in so few words. You seem so polished. Thank you for sending me the request to read this writing. Nice job.
this is very interesting- and a big question to ask.
i think that God is our conscience, and everyone has a conscience.
our mind keeps us compnay when no one else will,
so we can't ever be alone.
those are my personal observations, lol. :-)

I'm 25, and I'm from Glasgow in Scotland. I've lived in a few other places, briefly in both Australia and England but Glasgow is definitely home for me. I love writing and have doing it as long as I.. more..
