Daddy Dearest

Daddy Dearest

A Poem by I Am Alexis
"

A poem I wrote about one of my old friends... Kinda sad.

"
I wonder what will happen,
In your future,
Will you turn out all right?,
Or will you be worse than your father?

You told me,
You would never be like him,
But are you so sure?.
You're going down his path.

In fact, you're worse,
Did you think it was possible,
At least he's clean,
unlike you.

You're a lonely little boy,
looking for your father's love,
In drugs,
In sex.

Yet, I can't blame you,
You desire acceptance,
You want that smile,
That "good job, son".

But drugs don't numb the pain,
Sex doesn't fill the void,
All I hope is,
You figure that out before it's too late.
