HomecomingA Poem by I Am AlexisThis is a poem about what happened when I went to homecoming last fall, I saw the guy who I really liked with another girl.
I saw you with her,
She looked so beautiful, With her hair perfectly curled, and you by her side. You looked so stunning, Dressed to a tee, The best I'd ever seen you, But you weren't with me. I sat at a table, Pretending to listen to my friends chatter on, But I only saw you, Did you catch me staring? I wondered If you saw me, Or if you even cared, I kept hoping that you did, Deep down I knew you didn't. So I pretended, To have the time of my life, Just in case, You'd happen to walk by. Months have passed, But I can't help but wonder, Was I even on your mind, While you were with her? I finally asked you, Just the other day, You looked at me, Then you looked away. I was upset at first, Then I thought, It was just a dance, There is surely more to worry about than this. Then I smiled and thought, It doesn't bug me anymore, Because I have your heart, And she's just a w***e.
