Collateral Damage

Collateral Damage

A Poem by Lexi Richard

Forgive me for what I have been
I've lost all my control
I don't know where my mind has gone
or the last time I felt whole

Forgive me for hurting you,
while I tried to hurt myself
I forgot about the ones I loved,
while I put my thoughts on a shelf

Forgive me, I know I was wrong
I wasn't me at all
I couldn't see while my pain was so big
that I made everyone else so small

Great job! Pleasant read and a brisk reminder of what can happen when we venture down the rabbit hole.

As far as musicality goes (if I may be so bold), Stanza 2 Line 1 needs one more syllable to be properly tuned.
As far as the poem goes......WOW!! Well done!
