Eyes Like DirtA Poem by Lexi Richard
Eyes like gems, green and blue
dazzle like a dream they steal your breath and stop your heart, but you've got no need to worry Your eyes are like dirt, but the good kind, like soil that's mineral rich they're soft and brown, deep and round, and mysterious like a myth They're like bark on willow trees, and like chocolates on Valentine's Day they're my iced mocha drink, smooth as ink, and like dirt in early May They warm me from the inside out and never pierce my skin they're gentle as deer, never cause fear, and look like dirt as fall begins Your eyes could be as blue as the sky or green as seaweed off shore but you've got eyes the color of dirt and I've never loved a color more -l.r.
