Pretty

Pretty

A Poem by Lexi Richard

I wish I were blessed
with long shiny hair
and a straight white smile
that gleamed
with great sparkling eyes
bluer than the skies
and deeper than the seas

I wish I were blessed
with soft rosy lips
and a voice like a chickadee's song
small feminine hands
skin caramel tan
and eyelashes dark and long

I wish I were blessed
with darling freckles
a soft laugh
 and glowing cheeks
but instead I was blessed with an extravagant mind
which I'll accept instead of
"pretty"

This is really lovely! :) I can very much relate to it, and I love that you ended it with "an extravagant mind which i'll accept instead of pretty" That's my very favorite verse, and it just ties the entire piece together beautifully
