I love you dearly

I love you dearly

A Poem by Lexi Richard

why,
i love you dearly-

dearly as i love
the billowing gray steam
floating off cement
after a summer rain
as it is swirling swiftly
to the murky cobalt heavens
it makes figures on the streets' many dancing men

dearly as i love
the velvety blue dark
glittering with gems
in the moonbeam's arc
critters always chirping
always a dog will bark

dearly as i love
sleeping by the sea
middle of the night
when you hear
the waves crashing

dearly as i love
the choir of katydids
chirping behind
the burning campfires of august

dearly as i love
the crisp air and scents
of bitter october nights and burning jack-o-lantern heads

but none of these things could compare
there is just no possibility

there is nothing greater than the way i love you dearly

this is a very perceptive and well imaged write.

especially the second stanza which reminds me of NY and my childhood...

and there is nothing greater than a true love shared with someone special.
