Assignments play a very important role in deciding the final grade student receive every semester. A major part of the grade they get in any assignment depends on the presentation of the assignment. Therefore, it is very important for students to be aware of how to structure their assignment in such a manner that it is interesting and presentable to the reader, leaving a great impact on them.

However, the main question that is persistent among most college students is; how do we structure the assignment in such a manner that the presentation gets a perfect grade for them.

1.Create an overview of the assignment: Most experts suggest this step; they say that doing this step makes them get a more clarified and concise approach towards the topic of the assignment. Make a note of the different things that you want to include in your assignment, the topics you want to cover, the examples you want to use, etc. The overview does not go into the assignment, so you do not need to be perfect when you are writing the overview; it is for your personal use, to help you keep your objectives clear.

2.Divide the structure of the assignment: The main content of the assignment is to divide it into three sections broadly: the introduction, the body and the conclusion. Depending on the number of key points you intend on including in your assignment, divide the word count. Key points are to be chosen carefully as we intend to allot an entire paragraph to them solely.

3.Write the introduction: The introduction is the opening part of your assignment, so make sure it is interesting and can peak the reader’s curiosity enough to interest them to read the rest of your assignment. However, the introduction should not be too long. It is only supposed to give the reader a brief summary and hints to what you have included in the rest of the assignment. An easy way to do this is to limit oneself to five or six sentences for it. You have five to six sentences where you have to fit an intro and the objectives of the assignment, so keep the sentences short, precise, and informative.

4.The main body: This is the core of your assignment. Divide the main body into three to five paragraphs. Out of these, you can allot about four paragraphs to the key points, citing quotations and examples, and explaining them. Make sure all the information you include is relevant to the topic; if you drift away from the topic too much, the reader might lose interest. One of the paragraphs can be allotted to the additional points you may want to include in the assignment. This paragraph should contain all the details you want to put, but do not wish to elaborate upon.

5.The conclusion: Just as the introduction opens your assignment, the conclusion ends it. Therefore, it is equally important to be strong. Briefly summarize the key points of the assignment and make a strong closing statement, one that you think will create an impact on the reader.

A well-structured assignment is always very pleasing to come across. Use these tips to structure your assignment and make it a delight for the professor to read. Then, there will be nothing stopping you from scoring that ‘A+’!
