Gone

Gone

A Poem by Alexis

Her feeling we're staring to fade,
All of them.
And she couldn't really
Feel them anymore.

But she decided,
To hold on a little bit longer.
Only for the ones around her.

They had all thought
She was happy again -
What a lie,
She thought to herself
As she cried away all the pain before night.

She desperately wanted,
That beautiful blade
To hit her skin again,
So she could finally feel,
Feel something real.

And she slowly lost contact,
With the people
She needed the most.

Every night she would tell herself,
When did I take that wrong turn?
And how did I end up here?
But no one would listen,
So she had no answers.

Even if she was with others,
They all wanted her to be happy.
But how could she?
So she faked her smile
And laughed hard,
Just to cover up her pain.

Just to give them what they wanted.
Just to make them happy.
She did this all for everyone else,
She held on for everyone else.
Even when she didn't want to.
