Aftermath

A Chapter by Lewys Tapscott-Nott
"

This chapter was important for me, because it shows how our characters react after the last chapter.

"

Carissa and Bolin both made a bombfire which did well at taking Carissa's mind off the experience at the hotel, but the scars were still there, clear as day.

Carissa looks deep into the camping fire, thinking.

She was not herself.

"Carissa, your my m8 right"? Well, if you ever want to talk about what happened, you can always talk to me".

"You wouldn't understand".

Agathe groans and gets up.

"Fine, be like that".

"Like what?!

I just said I don't want to talk about what happened"!

"I know! but were all in this together, or not at all".

Carissa gets up and walks off.

"Where are you going"?

"For a walk"!

Bolin sees Carissa and runs to catch up.

"I don't feel like talking".

Carissa explains, grinding her teeth in annoyance.

"Good, I'm not here to talk, I just want a walk.

(Just like you.)"

"Then why were you trying to catch up with me"?

"Can't we walk together"?

Carissa then snorts to herself.

"I thought you hated me".

"Hates a really strong word, would you hate a sibling"?

"No, I mean, yes we fight, and we argue, but thats what we do".

"It's the same thing with me and you".

Carissa then blinks a few times, think about what Bolin just said.

"Yes, I suppose thats true".

"I know everything is weird right now, with the whole myths and legends thing, but we need to stick together".

"And when people want their own space you give it to them".

"That is so true. However, you don't get that by pushing people away".

"I guess I just wanted to blow off some steam".

"Want to see what I do"?

Carissa watches.

Bolin then gets his ball out, and kicks it at an old oak tree several times.

"There we go, nobody gets hurt".

"Except for the tree".

"Yes, that's very true.

Luckily, I'm not a tree hugger".

"But shouldn't you look after the wild life and green"?

Carissa asks.

"Well, yes! which I do very much, every day. But when you need to let out some anger, the best way to do that is to just let it out".

"Thanks for the advise".

After half an hour of kicking the ball against an old oak tree, Carissa decided to return to the camping spot.

"Hi".

"Oh, are you speaking to me now"?

"Well, we could always go different ways to mount Olympus".

"No, it would be too boring with only Bolin for company".

"Can we just stick together on this thing?

I mean there's going to be a lot of disagreements.

But the most important thing is to remember, were friends".

"I think I'm going to need a friend on this journey".

I think I feel mostly sorry for Carissa in this chapter.
