i slept with a woman on a wooden floor

i slept with a woman on a wooden floor

A Poem by letters to parvati

i slept with a woman on a wooden floor

in a room dark and viscous

with a scent my mother ran from as a nun

i was brainwashed to be a good Christian

to like penises

but she came to me one day and said she liked my hair

my long fingers and my upper lip

her hands crawled under my clothes and wrote messages like

"i love you"

the walls collapsed on us

the lamp illuminated her body on my Muppet comforter

and i knew

if i were a nun, they'd kick me out for sleeping with my best friend
