Long Since

She looked up, into the sky
A paradise of light, dying
Hidden by the darkness
The first experience of rain falling

A drop of water fallen
On the one long since chosen

She used to be one of them
But times have changed again
A penny in a wishing well
Nights spent crying till ten

A teardrop fallen
From the eye of the one long since forgotten

She walked the roads alone
Her fear locked up, when caught
Lies that kept her hoping
But then was the time the gun was shot

A drop of blood fallen
From the heart of the one long since rotten

She looked on into the world
And saw the mark of sorrow
Heartache and lost dreams
Another life being sought to borrow

A drop of ambrosia fallen
On the one long since chosen
