Those Were the Days

Those Were the Days

A Poem by letroit

Down by the old Kentucky river
Where the water flows from the weir
There's an old derelict log cabin
Just falling apart
Mary-Jane was an old friend of mine
We would sit and talk away the hours
Just reminiscing about the good old days
Oh things aren't ever gonna change

There was dirty Jack. He lived on the farm
And slutry Cath she liked to make porn
Georgy boy he wanted to be a star
Those were the days that would never get far

I can remember going out with the boys
Getting drunk in every bar
We would walk in about a quarter to three
Oh lord I would do it all again

There was dirty Jack. He lived on the farm
And slutry Cath she liked to make porn
Georgy boy he wanted to be a star
Those were the days that would never get far

This has an Americana vibe to it. I play guitar, sing and write songs, as you do. Strangely, I very rarely turn any of my poems into songs - just one or two. I enjoyed the read.
