One More Step

This is about a friend of mine who is going through her own hardships.

She takes it one step at a time

Just like they told her

She goes to work and ignores the pain

Ignores how numb her legs are getting

Just like they told her

She doesn't let her guard down 

Because he needs her to

She comes home and pretends it leaving didn't kill her

Pretends she can still feel her hand in his

Because he needs her to

She doesn't tell them she's not okay

She doesn't tell them she's lost all feeling

And she doesn't tell him she loves him

Because it hurts too much 

To watch her husband die

The hardships only start with a sick and dying loved one...from there it fans out like a plague. Great voice and writing. So sad, but I loved it.
