Venomous

Venomous

A Poem by Leslie
"

A Found Poem characterizing Montag in Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451.

"

Walking through

This swarm of fireflies,

Forever

Burning bright.

Am I happy?

Happy!

Of course.

Changing . . .

Parlor walls

are blank walls to me.

Where are my hands?

Burning.

Turning against what I know.

My life is a blur,

Grass along the road.

Suddenly,

The white pigeon

Fluttering its wings

Stamped

With fiery steel

Those who don't build must burn.

Leaving myself

A slithering salamander

To find

Me.

"Those who don't build must burn".....good line. I like your poetry, it has a good feel without being overly complicated, I think this may be my favorite of the ones you posted.
