When He Cries

When He Cries

A Poem by Jordan Lescallett
"

I love him, please stop hurting him

"

His nose gets red, not red like Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer

But just enough red that you'd either think he'd have a slight cold or was crying

His emerald green orbs start to glisten, to the naked eye of someone from the crowd

You would just think his eyes are sparkling under the bright stage lights

As he tears up more you see the pools of water start to fill the brim of his eyes ready to fall

In that moment his eyes turn away from the cameras, lights, and people

And becomes an innocent boy again

When he gives up his fight of trying not to cry he furrows his eyebrows then drops his face to the ground

His face bunches up and his eyes squint letting the tears fall and all the pain inside gets released

He lets his guard down and cries hard running his long fingers through his thick brown hair.

When he cries, you want nothing more than to stop all the lies the people say,

They scream at him while he tries to live his life

They call him a man w***e and tell him he's a horrible person

He's my 19 year old angel with a broken wing

I love him and when he cries, I wish I could take the words away

And replace them with love, and make him know

How beautiful he is
