Megastory 4

Andros, the Red Space Power Ranger begins an investigation of universal proportions.

This was his sort of situation. Working alone. He had learned to appreciate the comradeship of the Space Power Rangers, but by himself, Andros- the Red Space Power Ranger- didn’t have to worry about anybody else.

The message replayed in his mind over and over.

“Power Ranger emergency message! This is Trey of Trinotia! I’m piloting Pyrimidas! I’m severely injured! I’m not sure I’m going to make it! Any Power Ranger hearing this signal! Please pick up Pyrimidas! It can’t be recovered by the forces of evil!”
          Trey was a Zeo Ranger and his Zord, Pyrimidas was very powerful. It would have been nice if Trey had given more information but he sounded like he was in bad shape; to the point that he might die.

So far, no other Power Rangers had responded to the call. That was a bit concerning, but Andros was confident that he could handle a simple retrieval mission without any help.

The star system was in the edge of Thanagarian space. He was familiar with them and knew them to be pretty brutal. Power Rangers didn’t have any jurisdiction in their empire so if he encountered them, he’d better talk fast.

Hopefully, he could simply retrieve Pyrimidas and the Gold Zeo Ranger, and be on his way.

A small moon was the location which Pyrimidas crashed.

Andros left the Megaship in orbit, its scanners on high, to warn him of incoming vessels and took his Galaxy Glider down to the surface to check things out.

Pyrimidas looked like it has suffered damage but not too much. Trey probably suffered a lot of personal injuries, retreated to his Zord and fought his way to freedom.

All Power Rangers drew their power from a single cosmic force. That energy signature gained all Power Rangers access to any Zord. Andros was saddened when he got inside.

Trey of Trinotia- the Gold Zeo Ranger- was dead.

The murder investigation began immediately.

Andros first secured the body for forensic testing. Then and he began to sync Pyrimidas with the Megaship so that he could remote control the machine and return to a Power Ranger base.

Emerging back outside, he was just mounting his Galaxy Glider when the Megaship alerted him about an incoming vessel. A Thanagar scout ship.

He considered making a run for it, but foresaw how such an action could turn into a larger incident and stayed to wait for them to confront him.

It was a single wingman who had come down. He looked tough- and angry- but so did all of the hawkmen, so no need be concerned yet. Thanagar’s warriors were aggressive and brutal but they weren’t barbarians. This hawkman would at least ask some questions first. If he didn’t like the answers then the pounding would start.

“What are you doing here?” the Thanagarian demanded.

“I’m a Power Ranger. I’m here to retrieve a colleague.”

“You don’t have jurisdiction here.”

          “I know. I should have called for clearance but it was urgent that I secure the Zord.”

          “Your war machine crashed in our space. That requires and investigation. We will take care of its salvaging.”

          “That’s not acceptable!” Andros argued. Now he was starting to get worried. “The Power Rangers are an autonomous group and have the right to conduct our business as long as it doesn’t affect local government interests.”

          “It does affect government interests.” Hawkman barked. “I’m taking you into custody.”

          Andros backed away. “I’m not going to comply with this!”

          The wings on his back spread and Hawkman took a wider stance.

          “You’re going to comply! One way or the other!”

Hawkman lifted himself several feet off the ground and then swooped down and tried to smash the Red Power Ranger with his mace.

Andros back flipped out of the way and immediately drew his blaster. Hawkman was swinging around for another pass as the Power Ranger opened fire. The Thanagarian dipped and zipped his way through the blasts but was forced off of his attack vector.

When he was close enough, Andros leaped and did a high back flip kick. He missed and Hawkman tapped him back to the ground with his mace.

The blow wasn’t enough to knock him out but he was dazed and Hawkman scooped up his foe and gave him another bash across the head.

At that point, the fight was over. Victorious, Hawkman scooped up his foe and took him to his shuttle.
