Sands
A Poem by
Leran Vakem
These sands
our greater enemy
of all, none can beat
My blood drips
stain the gold to red
It runs never
holding back
in its glass
In the middle
of the storms
the sands stay
calm, never missing
its beat to move
always forward
My sand is few
may I borrow
some of yours
for you have mine
Our greatest enemy
never caring for me
or you, we are alone
to stand in these sands

I really enjoyed this poem. "May I borrow some of yours?" I feel that makes the poem easy for everyone to connect to. Great poem.

Time never slowing or stopping. always on the move waiting to pull you under. My time is your time brother.
More more i want more.

I like this too. I like the image of your blood dripping, turning the sand red but it still moves on. I also like the way you presented the idea of borrowed time. I wish we could really do that! The older I get, the faster it goes. Nicely written!

Oh I really like this. The simplicity of time slipping by through our fingers just proves that it isn't simple at all. Great write.
