Morning like this

Morning like this

A Poem by Lepadah

She never stayed long enough to see the light of day
Rising up
A mist disappearing into thin air
Exchanges made w/tight embrace
A drift into dark space
Still air
Cold breath
She escaped
Aboard an F train
Queens bound
Satchel draped over her tired back
Girl child holding her hand
Eyes deep w/circles
Not enough time to sleep
Trying to smooth out her worries
Massage the impatience out of her soul
And finally sleep
