Ode to a lady

Ode to a lady

A Poem by Lepadah

she keep passing me by

I try 2 search her eyes

slanting to sides

could I be the star in her eye

I watch 4 her on pretty sunny days

swaying down the street

I run outside just 2 see

will she say hi 2 me

sweet lady

lonely eyed

I think she is searching 4 her colored man

chocolate'

u know the brothas

morena

but sweet senorita

I could make u my mommie

but u keep paaing me by

everyday I die 2 search those eyes

dark & worried

abandon by frequent smile

I catch her on good days w/o the rain

so this time I said "hi baby"

try 2 sound like the brothas

so I don't say too much

I become accustomed 2 the head nod

dancing in my construction boots

"baby got back 2 back"

damn I drink Jack's tequila

recite "tilting at wind mills"

she be my peyote & I'm constantly high

hoping 2day she won't pass me by

sweet black lady

u keep passing me by

I would love 2 be the man who would hold yr stare 4 just 1 nite
