Sleepy Face

Sleepy Face

A Poem by Emily Leonard

I fell asleep picturing your face
Not the one creased with worry
Or hiding back pain
Not the one that looks so tired
And sometimes defeated
But your sleeping face
The most beautiful thing I've ever seen
So relaxed
Like a small child
Your peaceful face
That I keep an eye on
To keep the nightmares away
And then your other face
The one you make when you finally wake up
And see me there
