Breaking DownA Poem by Emily Leonard
When you tell him you're in agonizing pain and he acts concerned
The excitement builds to levels that match the pain Is this him caring? The thought that he's going to come take care of you floods your mind He asks for your symptoms. Whether I want him to take me to the hospital. I say no...and then that's it. How stupid was I to think that he cared about the patient more than the diagnosis? That if there was no hospital visit, he could still be content with holding a girl he once loved who is in a ball of pain. But now I know No hospital visit, just equals half an hour of his time that I wasted. © 2015 Emily Leonard |
