The Water Is Dried Up

The Water Is Dried Up

A Poem by Lendura
"

Katrina and Rita related.

"

The sun hasn't poked it's head out in awhile.

We don't need anything more illuminating the unhealed.

The world doesn't know, but us down here do.

And oh how we know..

The water is dried up,

still the earth bares cruel evidence that something happened.

These walls, so great, they stood tall to protect.

Now smeared with markings, three years now, they haven't shined their brightest then any other day.

Is it a little too much to ask for help without fine print?

The water has dried up, but the sun is gone.

Side note: There's alot of work still going on down here but we grow everyday.

Katrina hit aug 29th 2005. A tribute to all those that have suffered.

It's a little vague; I might not have known its topic had you not stated it. It reads more like a draft in progress than a poem, in all honesty. Hope that isn't bothersome.
