I Hug This Gun

I Hug This Gun

A Poem by Lendura
"

About the middle east

"

I hug this gun and this body armor hugs me

Through this broken hour glass sand land

A place that time itself has forgotten

All these poor children

Whom have learn to live with fear in their hearts

Fear is a venomous acid that eats away your hopes

They live in their primitive stone homes

Having to walk a mile for a gallon of clean water

to quench their thirst of not knowing

if they're father will come home

I load this gun and this bullet protects

Protection is just a fancy word meaning to kill

But if love can kill can not hatred save?

I hold my steering wheel and this car holds me

Through this land of twisting roads and tall buildings

A place time has wrapped itself around

Full of every type of crook, predator even the innocent

Whom have learned to live with sadness in their hearts

Sadness is a mosquito that sucks you dry

They live in their tall buildings

crying out loud in groups

to heal their wounds of the unknowing

if their children will come home

I load this gun and this bullet protects

Protection is just another fancy word

Meaning to kill
