![]() The Music Stays The SameA Poem by LenduraI come here often, the people always change though the music stays the same It stays crowed, I feel like I asked for my margarita a hour ago. Where's Debbie, the actual real blond waitress that usually serves me? She's a single mother after all, boyfriend walked out on them. Yes, I remember her telling me that, how long has it been? It's doesn't matter, she's a fighter. I can tell it every time I look into her blue eyes with the tiny specks of yellow. I wonder if she sees the same in me. As I step away from my thoughts, my margarita is placed on top the red napkin in front of me. I look up to a unfamiliar face, but I pay for my drink and she doesn't say a word as she walks away. She was definitely a red head, but her eyes I did not see. The people always change, but the music stays the same. The red napkin now has a dark ring from the water rolling off my glass. It probably was a bad time to order a frozen margarita. Then the thought crossed my mind, maybe I should find a new place. Where they change the music and the same people come back. © 2008 Lendura |
